Nascido no Panamá, Micah Gaugh passou a maior parte de sua vida adulta no East Village, New York. Músico, artista visual, escritor e diretor de cinema, trabalhou ao vivo e em estúdio com diversos músicos do Blues à Música Clássica como Lady Miss Kier do Dee-lite, John Zorn, Cecil Taylor, Bootsy Collins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Burnt Sugar, DJ Logic, Thurston Moore, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, DJ Spooky, Vernon Reid, entre outros.
Como compositor, Micah escreveu a trilha para o ballet ‘Highrise’ e para a versão musical de ‘Sweet Sweetbacks Badass Song’ com Melvin Van Peebles. Seus álbuns anteriores incluem ‘Everything’ (2006), ‘The Blue Fairy Mermaid Princess’ (2013) e ‘Pessego do Verao’ (2016). Micah escreveu duas óperas: ‘Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights’ e uma peça para o artista Rirkrit Taravanija presente em ‘il Postino di Tiempo’. Compôs também a trilha e atuou no filme de Matthew Barney ‘Di Lama Lamina’ participou da obra coral ‘Noise Mass’, encomendada por Chiesa Rosa em Milão.
Micah também é pintor e escritor. Sua obra como artista visual já foi exposta em galerias pelos EUA além de Brasil, França, Japão e Reino Unido.

Born in Panama, Micah Gaugh spent most of his adult life in the East Village, New York.
Micah is a musician, a visual artist, novelist, and filmmaker and has performed live and in studio with numerous musicians from Blues to Classical music such as Lady Miss Kier of Dee-lite, John Zorn, Cecil Taylor, Bootsy Collins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Burnt Sugar, DJ Logic, Thurston Moore, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, DJ Spooky, Vernon Reid, among others.
As a composer, he wrote the score for the ballet ‘Highrise’ and for the musical version of ‘Sweet Sweetbacks Badass Song’ with Melvin Van Peebles. His previous albums include ‘Everything’ (2006), ‘The Blue Fairy Mermaid Princess’ (2013), and ‘Pessego do Verao’ (2016). Micah has written two operas: ‘Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights’ and a piece for the artist Rirkrit Taravanija featured in ‘il Postino di Tiempo’.
He composed the music for and acted in the Matthew Barney film ‘Di Lama Lamina’ and engaged in the ‘Noise Mass’ choral work, commissioned by the Chiesa Rosa in Milan. Micah also paints and writes novels. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries across the USA and as far away as Brazil, France, Japan and the UK.
